About the event
Come help Community Soil Foundation protect and restore the Russian River watershed after the 2017 Tubbs Fire!
Lend a hand at our monthly Stewardship Volunteer Day, and support our Healthy Habitats program in protecting native habitats and public health by improving soil and water quality. Depending on location, season, and the needs of our lands and community, the day's work will include erosion control, invasive species removal, fire fuel reduction, native planting, and other natural resource management in fire-affected areas of Sonoma County.
We'll meet at the Larkfield Community Garden at 9am, go to our worksite, and then be back to the garden by 3pm. There will be a lunch and additional rest breaks throughout the day.
*Volunteers need not commit to full workday - those wanting to help for a half day, please contact us as our worksite location changes each month.
All ages and skill levels are welcome. (Difficulty: Moderate)
Feel free to contact us with any specific workday questions.
What to Bring:
Hat, sturdy shoes, and layered clothing,
Lunch and refillable water bottle.
Snacks, drinks, and water will be provided, as will tools and safety equipment - you may also bring your own.
Workdays are run in all weather, but heavy rains will cancel.
